Kathua Gangrape: Three gets life, 5-yrs for three top cops

Pathankot Court on Monday pronounced the verdict in Kathua Gangrape case. The social media has been abuz with netizens saying “death for Kathua rapusts”.

Three convicts including the mastermind behind the crime Sanjhi Ram, Dipak Khajuria and Parvesh Kumar under Section 302 and 374 have been awarded Life while the three cops held for tampering and destroying evidences have been awarded 5-years.


The verdict is being looked as half-justice as the local people had demanded death sentence. The lawyer said they will appeal for death sentence in Punjab High Court. Earlier the case was moved to Pathankot court.

The incedent had taken place in Kathua distruct of Jammu in January 2018. The eight-year old girl was abducted, kept hostage and brutally gangraped. Her organs were mutilated. She was murdered. It was revealed during the investigation that she was abducted, rapsd and murdered as a pre-planned strategy to turn out members of Bakarwal community from the village named Rasana.
