Political parties are gearing up for the tough fight in the state next year. However, it’s quite unfortunate that political parties awake from their deep sleep when polls come closer. Delhi has many problems, average are untouched or unattended from MCD to Assembly and even administration. If these politicians take stock of the situation a through five-years then they would nog have to give poll ‘lollipops’ to voters

Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Admi Party (AAP) had played an unique ‘card’ to attract and appease the vote bank. Kejriwal in his manifesto had promised cheaper water. After coming to power, it announced every household in Delhi to get 20,000 litres of water free of cost every month. Apart from water, families that consume less than 400 units of power per month will get a 50 per cent discount.

A section of people in Delhi, have stood beside Kejriwal as they feel someone has done something for them, may be ‘lollypops’ to woo vote bank politics. “political party apna sochegi, yeh to pakki bast hai. phirbhi AAP ne subsidy dekar thora to faida kiya hai” (you see no political party will do selflessly, still AAP has given some relief with these subsidies), said Rashita Agarwala, a homemaker in IP Extension, Patparganj, East Delhi. Like her many areu supporting AAP just because of the subsidies. Some apprehend if new Government comes to power it may levy amounts in retrospective.
