Eversince West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee had sparked controversy over her “sending sweets made of pebbles and mud for Narendra Modi” remark during the campaingning, the ‘laddu’ (sweet) has become a subject of discussion whenever Trinamool-BJP is discussed.

In a gesture to both celebrate the victory of prime minister designate Narendra Modi and to counter the remark made by Banerjee, the BJP workers at Kalakar Street, Burrabazar in north Kolkata are busy making nearly one-lakh Kg laddu which they plan to dristibute across residents in the area.

The scene at Howrah station too was not different as BJP workers carried arond 11,000 ‘Komolabhog’ (sweet) and dristibuted among the visitors, passengers. They said it’s totally apolitical and celebrating the massive victory of BJP and Narendra Modi assuming prime minister’s chair for the second time.
