West Bengal Governor Kesari Nath Tripathi has called for an all-party meeting after the violent clashes that took place between BJP workers and the Kolkata Police. The city was virtuallg brought to a stop in wake of ‘Lalbazar Abhijan’ on Tuesday. The meeting is scheduled to take place at 4 PM at the Raj Bhawan, Kolkata.
Major political parties – CPI (M), Congress, Trinamool and BJP have been asked to be present in the meeting. Experts see this as a crusial meeting as perhaps this will be an initiative on the part of Governor to warn the political parties to restrain themselves and help in restoring normalcy in the state. There has been endless instances in the state even after the conclusion of the general elections.
According to sources, Partho Chatterjee from the Trinamool, Dilip Ghosh from the BJP, SK Mishra from the CPI(M) and SN Mitra from the Congress will attend the meeting.
