The seventh and final phase of 2019 general elections are over and now the wait is for the results to be out on May 23. As per norms, the results of Exit Polls are out. Though nobody can claim exit polls 100 per cent authentic but usually this is the crux that we get on the final results day.

Before going into exit poll results, a quick look at the polls on the final day. On average there was a good polling turnout. Massive polling percentage recorded in Jharkhand, West Bengal. However, Bengal remained tensed all through the day. Verbal and physical violence reported between Trinamool-BJP across Bengal including Kolkata where urban vote-bank exists.

Coming to results of exit polls. There is no doubt about the win of Narendra Modi led NDA government in the state. Most of the polsters have given NDA between 287 to 300+ and UPA will get between124 to 128 seats. Mahagathbandhan fighting hard to get a decent number is expected to get between 26 to 28. This result is enough to prove that people do not sail of clouds as Mahagathbandhan did eversince the announcement of their ‘grand alliance’. It had no agenda but only “Modi Hatao”. Mamata Banerjee’s claim that India will not give a single vote to Modi has become a boomerang.

The waiting is for May 23, the day results to be declared…
