Bangla Hunt,Pallab Ghosh: Yet another iconic eatery ‘OlyPub’ at Kolkata’s Park Street has closed down after a breaking out of fire on Monday evening. The resto–bar ‘OlyPub’ had been a must visit place to free out for many in ghe city especially on Saturdays and Sundays when the place would get over crowded. The iconic OlyPub used to frequented by many celebrities in the city.
On Monday evening, suddenly there was a fire. Three firetenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire. However, this is not the first time such fire has taken place, in 2014, a similar incedent had taken place at the resto-bar. Preliminary investigations reveal there was a leak in the LPG cylinder which caught fire.
OlyPub is just another ‘nostalgic’ address on Park Street which has seen numerous iconic shops closing down with the passage of time. Many names that used to be the a the prominent landmark has become past. The recent one was the shifting of iconic Chineese restaurant ‘Worldorf from heart of Park Street to Russel Street.
