On Thursday, Mamata Banerjee met the famous political strategist Prashant Kishor. This in itself has raised many questions inside and outside the political corridors in the country. Many assume that Trinamool supremo wants to take help of Kishor. It may not be out of place to mention here that earlier Kishor had done miracles in Bihar elections.
Finally, Trinamool seems to have understood that defeat was not stage managed rather the angef and resentment of people who had expressed their unhappiness against a number of wrong policies or stand taken by the Trinamool. This also includes the numerous mis-calculations or over-confidence of the party supremo and West Bengal state chief minister Mamata Banerjee who had given the clarion call “42/42”. There are many issues within the party which were totally ignored like the “intra party fights” but the high command in Trinamool always pushed the issued by calling it a “story” of opposition and media.
The meeting between Banerjee and Kishor is quite ‘significant’ as the Trinamool has completely lost the faith of a section of voters who happened to be staunch supporters which in itself is alarming. If sources are to believed, then Kishor has agreed to work for Trinamool if Mamata Banerjee decides to employ him.
However, engaging a poll planner in itself explains that Trinamool needs to be revamped and Banerjee will have to keep strict vigil on the activities within the party.
